About Our Center
Our History
Loving Arms began in 1999, sparked by a vision Carol Heberling shared with her pastor after hearing about life‑affirming pregnancy centers on a Focus on the Family broadcast. Her simple step of obedience stirred pastors and members of area churches to unite around a shared calling—to offer Christ centered care, practical support, and life‑affirming alternatives to abortion for young women facing unplanned pregnancies.
The ministry first opened its doors on Mother’s Day 1999 in downtown Taylorville, later moving to its current location in 2010 as services expanded. In 2020, Loving Arms opened a satellite center in Pana, extending the same compassionate, Christ‑centered support to even more women and families across our region.

Celebrating 26 years!
In 2025, we celebrate our 26th year of sharing the love of Christ as we provide C.A.R.E. (Compassion, Assistance, Respect, and Education) to those facing an unplanned pregnancy and related issues.
Mission Statement
To affirm the value of life by providing alternatives through Christ-centered care to those who are at risk or hurt by abortion within Christian County and surrounding areas.
Our Programs
Intervention Programs
Pregnancy Services include pregnancy tests, options consultations, referrals for ultrasound, community and medical referrals and related issues. As part of our options consultations, we also provide resources and referrals for those facing difficult decisions following a life-limiting prenatal diagnosis for their baby. Those resources and referrals include bereavement photography after the baby is born…pictures of them with their baby that they can cherish. This provides them with hope and aids in the grief process (although there is no timeline for grief). It also allows them to love their baby into the arms of Jesus.
Earn While You Learn provides education and resources for parenting and healthy decision making as well as an opportunity to earn material items for baby needs.
Men of Honor connects fathers with mentors who offer support and guidance unique to men.
Prevention Programs
Choices4Life™ is a sexual risk avoidance program helping teens develop life skills needed for a positive future and a healthy marriage later in life.
Woman 360° is a relationship-coaching program empowering women to respect, value, and protect their bodies.
Thrive is a program that helps her recognize and step out of unhealthy cycles to transform her life.
Recovery Programs
Healing the Heart is a confidential faith-based healing and support class for those struggling with the pain of a past abortion.
Love You Forever is an 11-week faith-based study ministering to women who have experienced a pregnancy loss through miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant death.
